From the November 20, 2010 football game between Iowa and Ohio State at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Major Christopher Kopacek leads his formation of Air Force T-38s over the stadium at only 176 feet above ground level and over 400 knots. For reference, flyovers above populated areas are restricted to above 1,000 feet AGL and 300 knots or below. Kopacek was forced to turn in his wings as result.
Slow mo:

Those Mig-28s were definitely in the
Danger Zone.

Holy carp, that second one from the press box really shows how seriously low that was. Unbelievable. Looks like you could’ve seen the whites of the pilots’ eyes.

The cleared the scoreboard by something like 50 feet.

I had just one of the Blue Angels pass overhead at that altitude at Seafair one time. THAT was pretty fucking loud. I can’t imagine FOUR of them.

Where are Maverick and Goose when you need them...
They’re about 2 meters above, and inverted...
I am literally going to watch this movie tonight, and then Iron Eagle. Fighter movie Friday.

Besides it being a safety concern, if the fans didn’t mind, who cares? It was cool!

I agree with his implicit statement that >1000ft is bullshit. I’m not sure if I’m on board with his precise level of YOLO, however.

It actually was his last flight before retirement, so he probably figured he could get away with it. They ended up 16 feet above the press box and 58 feet above the scoreboard!

Yeah, its mostly the safety thing. One wrong move and they hit the scoreboard. Then it’s hundreds injured or killed.

If they went below the hard deck then does it really count?
Side note - this is the only meme about the hard deck I could find. :(

Yeah, the hard deck. AKA the ground .
I LOL’d when I saw the actual pilot takedown of the movie.

That’s how I’d want to retire
Edit: actually I’d do it at that altitude and inverted

Worth it.
Maybe he wanted a reason to resign his commission. His excuse kinda sounds like bullshit. Kopacek said he trying to avoid other air traffic and lost track of his altitude. He ended up resigning his commission instead of facing court martial. Here is an article about him if anyone cares.
